BED REST.....

Well...  I had my normal weekly check up yesterday after school got out.  I did my routine urine test and there was a little protein in my urine, nothing too crazy, but not good.  Then they took my blood pressure and it was a little high!  In my head I was thinking "oh man...  what is going on"?  The nurse had me lay on my left side for about  5 minutes and then the doctor came in and took my blood pressure again.  It had gone down at that point, but the doctor still wanted to get some blood work done to make sure that everything was fine.  So I got my blood work done and came home and got ready for BUNCO!  It was my month to host!  It was a ton of fun, but my hands and feet were extremely swollen by the end of the night!  Even more than they have been the last 2 months!

I got a call this morning and the nurse said that my blood work results were not too concerning, but they wanted me to come back in to check my blood pressure and urine.  I got up and showered and went in.  I still had a little protein in my urine and my blood pressure was a little high again.  I laid on my side for  10 minutes and they took it again and it was down.  The doctor told me that I was to be on strict bed rest now and laying on my left side.  I also am going to be tracking my urine for 24 hours starting Sunday and then go back to the doctor on Monday.

SO I LEFT FOR A LITTLE WHILE AS I WAS TYPING THIS CAUSE THE DOCTOR CALLED.

He had said that because of the weekend, he wanted blood work done, so I had to go to the hospital and be admitted and they monitored the baby while they drew blood and got the results.  I just got home and everything looked good!!!  It was nice to get a preview of the hospital and the rooms!  They are REALLY nice.  Almost too nice for Wenatchee:)

I am bummed because tonight is the Relay for Life and I am stuck in bed.  I would like to be there to support my team, but I need to take care of this little guy!!!

Maggie comes home on the 23rd, so I am supposed to keep the little guy in until then....  but........  we will see!!!!

34 weeks, 2 days Prego!

And I keep getting bigger.....

So I have not updated in a looooooooong time!  Things are going well, however, I am starting to feel ready to be done.  I am calling this my "cranky" stage :)  I have had all of my WONDERFUL baby showers and am saying "thank you" again to everyone who attended and appreciate everything that everyone has done for us!  TRULY!!!  The nursery is just about done.  Just some paint touch-ups and some things to be hung on the walls and then I will get some pictures!

Within the last month I have gotten "pregnancy carpal tunnel".  IT IS NOT FUN!  I have to sleep with these dorky wrist splints so my hands don't fall asleep so much and Adam jokingly makes fun of me every night when I put them on :)  They are so annoying, but they do help somewhat!  My hands have so much fluid around them that they don't even look like my hands anymore and my feet and ankles are getting that way too!  Sleeping and walking are getting more uncomfortable each day because this little man is getting so big and he is definitely making my walk more like a waddle :)  Only about 5 more weeks...  I think I can... I think I can...  I go to the doctor tomorrow.  I am hoping that everything is looking good and then I start going every week until the little man arrives.  Pretty EXCITING!!!!

Jackson is moving so much now a days, that I feel him pretty much all day long.  I also see my stomach moving all the time.  It is the craziest thing ever to just all of the sudden see your belly jump!  I don't know what he is doing in there, but I think he is getting a little cramped.  I am feeling Braxton Hicks pretty often too, they are the weirdest feeling.  All of the sudden my belly just tightens and cramps a little and then it releases that tension.  SO WEIRD!!!

We have 15 more school days and it can't end soon enough :)  It is definitely spring and the kids are as ready to be done as I am.  I am teaching a lot from my desk lately due to too much pressure on my fat little feet if I stand too long!  I finished my testing today and am very happy with the results and can feel good about the year coming to an end.  The day that school gets out I am going to be doing home remedies to try to get some contractions going, but I have a feeling he is just going to come on his time, and he will probably be late, but we shall see :)

Well I think that is pretty much a good update!  I will have nursery pic's soon and we are anxiously awaiting Jackson's arrival!

XOXO

30 weeks

Well I am officially 30 weeks along now!!!  I can't believe it!  Time is just flying by :)  My sleepless nights are getting worse, and I'm starting to swell in my hands and feet, but still feeling pretty darn good!  I am was just telling some people last week that I really can't start complaining now, I have had an easy and good feeling pregnancy thus far!  I am going to the doctor every two weeks instead of once a month and then at the end of May I start going weekly!!!
It is all going to be here before we know it.  We have 36 more days of school for the school year and I say that Jackson can come anytime after that!! :)

Looking a little tired in the eyes, but I am trooping along :)

4-11-11 ***28 weeks 2 days!

Well I am officially in my third trimester!  It is pretty crazy to think that I have less than 12 weeks left.  It is going sooooooooo fast.  I am feeling very well and loving each and every day!  Jackson is moving consistently daily and is growing so much.  I know this because I feel just in the last week my stomach has like doubled in size :)  My book does say that he is about 16 inches long now and about 2 1/2 lbs.  I was on spring break last week and I feel like each day my belly just got bigger and bigger.  I don't know if this is because I had nothing better to do than to look at it or what not?!

I had the most amazing baby shower this past weekend and got some AWESOME gifts!  Thanks again to everyone who made that day so special for me and little Jackson!  Megan, Ashley and Tammy did a truly AMAZING job with it and it was picture perfect!

The baby room is still a work in progress!  Due to some silly mistakes we had to start practically over on the chair rail we are putting up, but it is all coming together and I can't wait to put all of Jackson's goodies away and organized!  I have been taking pictures of it, but I am going to wait to post until we have it all done!

3-22-11

Well, well, well...  It has been forever.  I just feel like the time is flying by.  Jackson is growing up a storm and boy am I feeling it.  I am 25 weeks, 3 days now.  I am definitely feeling the little guy in there more and more each day.  Yesterday I woke up at 4:30 am to him punching or kicking or doing something crazy in my belly.  I could not even sleep though it because the hitting was so strong.  Adam could not believe it either.  He could feel it like crazy from the outside of my belly, so he could only imagine what I was feeling from the inside!

I am feeling REALLY well (besides being crazy emotional) and am hoping that it continues!  I have quite a bit more energy, even with not sleeping too well, and am starting to get things ready for the little guy to arrive. We got the crib and dresser/changing table the other day and are hoping to have them put together by this weekend!  Adam has been working hard on the trim in the baby room and we don't have too much further to go!  Can't wait to see it all done!

My mom is giving us a little scare right now.  She has pnemonia and is in the hospital right now.  We are on day 2 and it is probably going to be at least a week.  She is doing WAY better than yesterday though.  She is smiling and laughing today which is always fun to see!!!  I think she just wanted a little extra attention since her 50th birthday is a few days away!  :)  Plus she also got Maggie to come home early!!! She is on her way home right now and should be arriving to Wenatchee late tonight!  Not the best way to get Maggie home, but we are all excited to see her!

I have some pictures of the nursery and the baby bump coming soon!!!!

Growing by the day

2-22-11  Well, it has been a little while since I last updated.   Things are going really well.  I do have a little more energy at this point, but I am also not sleeping too well.  :(  This not sleeping on my stomach and back thing is killing me.  Being a stomach sleeper my whole life, I had to switch from that to my back almost immediately with my pooch growing.  Now I am reaching the point where I am not supposed to even sleep on my back, so I am stuck to my sides.  This is just not for me...  I am rotating constantly because my hips are hurting as well as having pillows surrounding me to try to help with the discomfort.  Adam said that when he came to bed the other night there almost wasn't any room for him due to the pillow overload!

I did get to have my second pregnancy massage today and it was fantastic!!!  Wish I could get them weekly, but monthly is working out well!  Another item I added to my list was getting a light workout in.  Due to previous miscarriages, I had been really taking it easy and basically was being a bum.  Well, the doctor has said that I am in the safe zone now, so I am adding some good old exercise to my daily routine!  It felt really good to be back in the gym!!!

I am growing by the day and getting thoroughly excited to have the little guy come out!!!  I know, I know, he needs a LOT more time to be cooking in there, so I am not in too much of a rush.

Until next time!!!!
XOXOXOXOXO
Katie

IT'S A BOY!!!

2-13-11  Well everyone...  IT'S A BOY!  We are thrilled!!!  I have always wanted a boy first and I got my wish!  Plus, I was pretty sure it was a boy the whole time!  Adam has always thought that he was going to get all girls, so when we saw his little "thing", he was pretty excited.  He was still quiet throughout the ultra sound until the end when the ultra sound tech said everything looked really good :)  However, the ultra sound tech said that the baby measured to make my due date now July 3rd instead of July 2nd.  I am still going for the 2nd and am going to keep that as my due date :)  We had the pleasure of also having Ashley with us when we found out and I am pretty sure she thought it was pretty amazing to see everything.

So....  Jackson Marc Montes it is!  I am pretty sure that he likes his name, because he has been moving like crazy ever since Friday!  This morning when we woke up, Jackson was either punching or kicking a ton, and I thought it was so strong feeling that I had Adam put his hand on my belly to see he could feel it from the outside, and he DID!  He could feel every little movement that Jackson was doing in their.  I am so happy that he is finally able to feel the little guy moving around in there.

I am 20 weeks 1 day now and a day over half way there!  Can't wait!!!  Me, being the planner I am, is ready to clean out the guest room and make it little Jackson's room.  We don't have any of the baby furniture yet, except for a little swing that was given to me from a mom at my school.  We also went and got Jackson 2 little outfits yesterday.  They are 0-3 months, so they are a little big, but I think they are so cute!

Pictures to come, I have somehow misplaced my camera cord to upload my pictures!

FILLED WITH EXCITEMENT

2-11-11  So today is the day we find out the sex of the baby!  My anxiety is so high!  I feel almost sick to my stomach because I am so excited!!!  The secretary at my school is due like 4 days after me and she found out yesterday that she is having a girl.  She wanted a girl so badly because she already has 2 boys.  I am so happy for her that she got her little girl!  We have been saying all along that we are having different sex babies, so I am starting to think it may be a boy, but YOU NEVER KNOW!

Our appointment is at 1:00 so I will update as soon as I can to let you all know!  We will soon have our little Adylynn (I know weird spelling, but we like it) not sure of middle name yet Montes or our little Jackson Marc Montes!!!!

More to come....

and she's down...

2-4-11  So I was walking out to my car this morning and what did I do... slip and fall.  Adam had just warned me it may be icy a minute before that, but what do I do still slip.  I was able to catch myself, but I was still freaking out.  I went on to school and I waited for the doctors office to open.  I called the doctor and he was in surgery, but his nurse agreed to ease our minds by doing an ultra sound even though she was pretty sure that everything was fine since I didn't fall forward and I had no bad symptoms.

I got someone to cover my class and we went in.  The baby is GREAT!  He or she was moving around like crazy and the heartbeat was very strong.  The little sucker even wiped his/her eye and we think had the hick ups.  Always cool to see what he/she is doing in there.  The nurse said that since she is not truly trained on how to see everything, she couldn't tell us the sex of the baby, but I was secretly hoping we would be able to tell.  No such luck...  I guess we will have to wait one more week!

My belly and me at 18 weeks

1-29-11  Another belly picture!  We are now in our 5th month!  I can't believe it :)  Belly is growing and I am really starting to feel the stretching.  I feel like my belly grew over night.  I woke up and it was pooching out even more than the day before!  Last night was amazing!  I started feeling a ton of movement!  I was trying to explain what it felt like to Adam, but was having a hard time explaining it.  We read what our baby book said it would feel like and it was right on...  It felt like the baby was doing somersaults in there.  It went on for about an hour.  IT WAS AWESOME!!!

Dr. appointment at 16 weeks 6 days

1-21-11  Dr. appointment went well.  It was a quick appointment.  We heard the heartbeat and basically that was it.  The heartbeat was nice and strong again and not hard to find at 150 beats/minute!  I can't even explain how crazy it is to hear that quick little heartbeat!  We both get smiles on our faces every time and I (being the emotional one) get teared up :)  We scheduled our next appointment for February 11th and guess what???  It is our 20 week ultrasound to find out the sex!  Can't wait!!!!  The doctor also wrote me a massage prescription because of my headaches still continuing and some lower back pain.  I absolutely LOVE massages, so I was thoroughly excited when he said it would be a good idea to start getting them!

My belly and me at 14 weeks

1-1-11  Here is another belly pic!  We are now 14 weeks along!  Belly is growing and believe it or not, the morning sickness is kind of starting.  Nothing too serious, but not feeling too great here and there.  My books say that this should all be stopping by now, but I figure every person has their own experiences during pregnancy!

Dr. Appointment at 12 weeks 5 days

12-23-10  Dr. appointment went well!  We didn't have an ultrasound, but we did hear the heartbeat for the first time.  It was SUPER strong.  160 beats/minute!  Now from the the myths I have read, that means it could highly be a girl, but who knows...  myths are myths for a reason!!!

I have been feeling really well this whole first trimester!  I am getting really close to starting the second trimester.  Time is just flying by.  I haven't really had any morning sickness, just REALLY tired and some major headaches!  It is really becoming a reality that this is going to happen!  It has been a long time coming and we are so thrilled!!!!

My belly and me at 10 weeks

12-4-10  Here is my first belly pic!  I couldn't believe that I already had a pooch (not sure if that is spelled right), but who am I kidding...  I just know I am going to pack on the pounds :)  I mean...  my mom gained 50 lbs. with me!  Sorry for bringing that up mom :)

Baby Montes at 9 weeks 4 days

11-30-10  Had another successful doctor's appointment!  Everything looked awesome!  We even saw the baby kick :)  It was crazy!!!  I didn't even know that the baby would be moving like that at that point.  The heartbeat was strong and the doctor seemed very pleased by the way everything was progressing.

Baby Montes at 6 weeks 4 days

11-10-10  First doctor's appointment went well! We had an early appointment due to our previous miscarriages.  At 6 weeks everything looked great!  We heard the heartbeat right away and were very excited!
